Dr. Susan D. Sweat joined KCUC on January 1, 2004. She graduated from Baker University in 1990 and received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1994. She completed her urologic training at the Mayo Clinic in 2000. Dr. Sweat spent a total of 10 years at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. (Clinical training including residency then hired as a senior associate consultant and consultant) She was a staff physician in the Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic for three and a half years before moving back to Kansas City. She has authored and co-authored many articles and abstracts in the field of urology. Dr. Sweat has been named as a Top Doctor in Kansas City, as published in the Kansas City Magazine, 2020-2024, and has been named as an Exceptional Women in Medicine, by Castle Connolly, 2020-2024.

Dr. Sweat practices many aspects of general urology but mainly focuses on the surgical treatments for urologic issues. She is a leading robotic surgeon in the Kansas City area.

Dr. Sweat has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 2002. She is a member of American Urological Association, The Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic surgeons, Kansas Urological Society, Missouri Urological Association, The Society of Women in Urology and Alpha Omega Alpha She is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas.
